As we approach Spring, we felt inspired this week to incorporate floral and light pastel elements with an edgy spin by contrasting such elements with rich, “moodier” colors throughout the cabinetry and tile. This board has a little something for everyone, whether it be lovers of earth tones, coinsurers of glamorous lighting fixtures, or fans of contemporary design. Follow along below as we highlight a couple of new products that we love in this board!
Starting in the kitchen with the base of this design, is a stunning new release from Cambria. From a distance, the “Avalene” quartz slab mimics the look of Carrara marble, however, upon closer inspection, this design displays delicate yet striking veins of dark green throughout its body. This subtle pop of color is sure to draw guests’ attention in any area of your home and also aids in creating cohesion within the space when incorporating earth tones in other areas. While green can naturally occur in Carrara marble, this option is a great alternative at a lower price point that requires less maintenance. Moving into the master bath of this board, the “Pimpernel” wallpaper from Morris & Co. in the colors “Ink” and “Sage” was the perfect complement to the countertop, tying in the pops of green throughout the slab and adding a moody twist within the space that is balanced out by the delicate florals within the pattern. Available in a jaw dropping number of sixteen different colors, this wallpaper is sure to upgrade any space in your home no matter what color scheme you have in mind.
Adding an eclectic spin on this theme, is the “bamboo” inspired tile depicted in the shower. From Rickertt’s “Kie” series, this tile comes in a large 12" x 36" size in three different colors (Amber, Maple, and Oak) and can be installed with minimal grout lines for a more modern, seamless look. In our selection of this tile as an accent wall in the shower, we loved how it contrasted the rustic checkerboard tile seen on the floor, and complimented the scattered “earthier” elements and colors throughout this design as a whole. As we foresee marble tile looks beginning to share a little of their spotlight with larger scale stone and wood looks this year, opting for products like this will not only keep your home on trend, but will also give a more “up-scale spa” feel to your home that can sometimes have a warmer appearance than marble.
