With Spring quickly moving upon us, I felt inspired this week to create a space inviting to the light and freshness brought on by the season. By starting off with a canvas made up of soft pastels and gentle earth tones, this space echoes the essence of blossoming florals, and the brightness of the color palette aids in reflecting light, creating a space that feels more spacious and airy. Below we will delve into the surfaces and fixtures that elevate this design into a look that is one of a kind.
In both the kitchen and the bath, Cambria’s “Inverness Blakeley” acts as the perfect anchoring piece amongst the more vibrant elements in the space, featuring veins of both warm taupes and cool greys enveloping a crisp white body, making it a perfect addition for any space. Drawing out both tones within the quartz, Elon Tile and Stone’s Calacatta Gold and Crema Marfil Curvosa Mosaic is simultaneously eye-catching and refined, as each piece comes together to form a dainty scalloped pattern that subtly mimics the countertop without being overly “matchy” or cliché.
Pictured in the center of the first image of this board, the “Moissanite” chandelier from Hudson Valley makes an unexpected statement amongst the other more “bohemian” inspired fixtures in the room. With its silhouette inspired by the Art Deco era, crafted of cascading pieces of scalloped Alabaster, the Alabaster pieces give off a soft warm glow when lit, adding warmth and elegance into the space while subtly nodding to the scalloped design of the backsplash tile.
By incorporating more “natural” elements within any design, such as wood, rattan, or linen, these elements not only help add texture into a space but they also ground the space by connecting the outdoors with the indoors. The “Tulum” 28" Pendant from Capital combines loops of hand wrapped rattan over a white fabric shade accented by warm brass for a look that is the definition of “boho chic” but versatile enough to pair with more sophisticated pieces.
