Boho Chic: An Elegant Twist on The Free-Spirited Nature of Bohemian Design

A perfect blend of natural textures, patterns, and colors complete with traditional and contemporary elements, this design embodies Boho-Chic style. This style carefully mixes casual and elegant motifs to create a stunning space. Natural materials such as rattan, wood, and cotton reflect the bohemian influence, while intricate details such as the silhouette of the brass chandelier and the molding on the blue Fabuwood cabinets give this design a stylish chic twist.

Surya’s “Reina” rug features a medley of organic colors; the olive, rust, mustard, and denim stand out against a pale blue-gray background. Made of 100% polyester, this rug is non-absorbent, stain-resistant, and pet friendly. The featured console table, mirror, and accent pillow are all from Surya. Modern decor such as these prove Surya as a one-stop shop for all of your furniture and decor needs.

A more modern component, Anthology’s “Jeweled Hex” stone tile in pale beige, adds a layer of embellishment to this design. This tile leans towards an elegant and sophisticated sprit, adding a chic edge. Paired with a stunning quartz countertop from Cambria, this tile is the perfect backsplash for a kitchen or bathroom. “Jeweled Hex” can be used on interior floors, shower walls and floors, and on fireplaces, making it beautifully versatile.

“Alexia” from Hudson Valley Lighting Group is a charming 5-light chandelier with acute attention to detail. Pictured center, it features cloud glass globes perched atop iridescent glass bubbles. The aged brass metal gleams reflected light, anything but casual. The “Alexia” collection includes a matching 1-light wall sconce.

To contrast, the “Aaliyah” pendant, also by Hudson Valley Lighting Group, is made with natural material, including the hand-strung cotton that stretches from the scalloped edge to an intricate braided band that cinches the shade and protrudes out to the top edge. The aged brass link chain that suspends the pendant gives this light a stylish detail. The floral silhouette makes this pendant delicate and feminine.

Though this design is overall Boho-Chic, there are several stylistic influences. The mixture of new and old stems from the Grandmillenial design trend, while the color pallet leans Coastal. Bohemian design is naturally eclectic in this sense. There is a global influence, shown in the use of different natural materials from all over the world, and the use of universal patterns. Marrying the free-spirit of Bohemian style with an elegant flair results in this effortlessly chic design.
